Agent readiness for device accessory brands

Agents are the new shoppers.

Is your catalog ready for them? Start with a three-product diagnostic: we show what AI agents can read, recommend, and buy. If the findings warrant it, a separate remediation engagement fixes the highest-leverage gaps and a re-audit proves what changed.

Built for phone case, charger, screen protector, and cable brands, including carrier-channel catalogs. The diagnostic is a directional sample, not a catalog-wide assessment. See the full methodology.

Why it landed here: this product's structured data is injected by JavaScript after the page loads. GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot never run that script, so the crawl layer scored zero.

Why now

The market is moving. Most catalogs aren't ready for it.

The opportunity

20% · $262B
Share of global retail orders and revenue that AI and agents drove during the 2025 holiday season.
+393% YoY
Growth in AI-referred traffic to U.S. retail sites in Q1 2026, and that traffic now converts 42% better than non-AI traffic, a full reversal from converting 38% worse a year earlier.

The risk

66 / 100
Average AI-readability score for U.S. retail product pages: roughly a third of what's on them is already invisible to LLMs.
82.5 vs 54.2
The gap between the best- and worst-performing retail sites on that same benchmark. That spread is market share, changing hands right now. By 2030, Gartner projects 1 in 5 digital commerce transactions will run through AI platforms.
What we measure

Three questions decide whether an agent sells your product

Layer 1 · 40%

Can crawlers read it?

GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot don't run JavaScript. If your data only appears after the page hydrates, they see nothing.

Layer 2 · 40%

Will they recommend it?

An agent comparing two products needs specs to argue with. Undeclared loses to declared, every time.

Layer 3 · 20%

Can an agent buy it?

Autonomous checkout needs a declared commerce manifest and machine-readable policy terms.

Every product lands in one of five SKUcommerce readiness bands: 70 is the Competitive threshold

Observed: carrier-channel accessory brand, six days apart

A duplicated product record was removed from one page and a missing barcode plus review data appeared on another. Neither change was announced to us. Our re-audit caught both, and the brand moved into first place in its own competitive set.

Methodology

How we build your scorecard

Four steps. The first three run on every product; the fourth is optional, and it's the one that shows you where you actually rank.

1

Collect two evidence views

We read raw HTML as a crawler does for structured-data and access checks, then review the rendered product page for visible specifications, variants, reviews, and policy terms. The gap between those views is often the finding.

2

Score three layers, independently

Crawl (40%): can machines parse it at all. Recommend (40%): is there enough substance for an agent to cite you over a rival. Transact (20%): could an autonomous agent actually complete the purchase. Each fails for a different reason, so each gets a different fix.

3

Place it on one scale

Every product lands in one of five SKUcommerce readiness bands: Invisible, At risk, Readable, Competitive, Agent-ready. A score of 70 marks the Competitive threshold in this methodology.

4

Add competitive context

Name up to two competitors and we score three of their most prominently merchandised products with the identical methodology, on the same day, so your number sits next to theirs, not alone.

Free vs. full engagement: the free scorecard below covers up to three of your own products, no competitors included. Competitive benchmarking against named rivals (step 4 above) is part of the full engagement.
What this gets you

Turn an invisible catalog problem into an accountable program

Win the comparison

When an agent stacks you against a competitor, yours has the specs to actually win.

Close the gap fast

Audit and fix in days, not a quarterly SEO project. Most of it is a data problem, not a content problem.

Stop losing invisible sales

Invisible to an agent isn't a complaint. It's a sale that vanishes with no signal telling you why.

Every fix, verified

The re-audit turns "we think it's better" into a number you can point to.

No new tools for your team

Managed by default: the work happens without anyone opening a new dashboard.

Protect your position

Agents, catalogs and competitors keep changing. A scheduled re-audit is how you notice before it costs you rank.

Questions

The things people ask first

How did you audit our site without asking?

We read publicly accessible product pages: the same pages Google, GPTBot and any shopper's browser can reach. No login, no private data, and robots.txt is respected, including crawl-delay directives.

Is this just SEO with a new name?

They overlap but optimize for different readers. SEO is largely about ranking for a human who then clicks. We measure whether a machine can extract, trust and act on your product data: specs it can compare, policies it can read, a checkout it can complete.

How does the competitive comparison work?

You name up to two competitors (or we help you pick) and we score three of their most prominently merchandised products with the exact same methodology, on the same day. You see your number next to theirs, scored identically, not a generic industry benchmark.

How do we know the fixes worked?

That's what the re-audit is for: same pages, same methodology, same scoring rules, so the movement is comparable rather than a fresh opinion. Every finding is date-stamped.

What's the free scorecard, and how's it different from a full engagement?

The free scan covers up to three of your own products: a one-time snapshot, emailed to you. A full engagement scores your whole catalog, benchmarks it against two named competitors, implements the fixes, and re-audits on a schedule to prove the change landed.

What happens to the URLs and email I submit?

They're used only to generate and send your report. We don't share them, and we won't add you to a marketing list without asking first.

Next step

Twenty minutes, and we'll walk your own findings with you.

No deck. We screen-share the diagnostic, show you the evidence, and decide whether a competitive audit or remediation engagement is worthwhile. The first report is diagnosis; the implementation plan comes only when you choose to pursue the work.
